Stepping Stones is:
Stepping Stones is a non-profit organization
that serves youth ages 16 to 20 years old who
are experiencing homelessness. Stepping
Stones provides transitional housing in a safe
environment and supportive services that aid in
the care of present needs, but also in preparation
for the future. Our program is designed to
provide our youth with the skills necessary to
become self-sustaining, successful adults.
Programs and Services
When a youth enters the Stepping Stones program
immediate needs, such as health concerns,
substance use issues and food security, are
addressed. Once a youth is securely housed in our
program, case managers collaboratively develop an
independent living plan that addresses the youth’s
individual challenges and goals. For every youth in
our program the top two objectives are obtaining
education and employment: the primary pillars to
self-sufficiency. Supportive services include:
• Assistance in educational attainment
• Employment and career planning support
• Monthly psycho-educational sessions
regarding substance use prevention
• Case management to aid in the accomplishment of individualized goals
• Permanent housing placement planning
• Referrals to counseling services
• Healthy living and physical activity programs
